Shloka 9.1: śhrī-bhagavān uvācha | idaṁ tu te guhyatamaṁ pravakṣhyāmy anasūyave | jñānaṁ vijñāna-sahitaṁ yat jñātvā mokṣhyase ’śhubhāt || 9.1 ||

English:  The Blessed Lord said: To you who are without envy, I shall now reveal this most secret knowledge, together with its realization. By knowing this, you shall be liberated from all inauspiciousness.

Hindi:  भगवान ने कहा: हे अर्जुन, मैं तुम्हें जो निर्दोष हो, इस अति गुप्त ज्ञान को बताऊँगा, जो विज्ञान सहित है। इसे जानकर तुम सभी अशुभ से मुक्त हो जाओगे।

 

Shloka 9.2: rāja-vidyā rāja-guhyaṁ pavitram idam uttamam | pratyakṣhāvagamaṁ dharmyaṁ su-sukhaṁ kartum avyayam || 9.2 ||

English:  This is royal knowledge and royal secret, the purest knowledge, and because it gives direct perception of the truth, it is the perfection of righteousness. It is easy to practice and imperishable.

Hindi:  यह राज-विद्या और राज-गुप्त है, यह पवित्र ज्ञान है, और क्योंकि यह सत्य का प्रत्यक्ष अनुभव देता है, यह धर्म का भी पूर्णता है। इसका अभ्यास करना सुगम और अविनाशी है।

 

Shloka 9.3: aśhraddadhānāḥ puruṣhā dharmasyāsya paraṁtapa | aprāpya māṁ nivartante mṛityu-saṁsāra-vartmani || 9.3 ||

English:  Those who have no faith in this dharma, O Parantapa (Arjuna), do not attain Me and return to the path of death and material existence.

Hindi:  जो लोग इस धर्म में श्रद्धा नहीं रखते, हे परंतप (अर्जुन), वे मुझे प्राप्त नहीं करते और मृत्यु तथा भौतिक संसार के मार्ग पर लौट जाते हैं।

 

Shloka 9.4: mayā tatam idaṁ sarvaṁ jagad avyakta-mūrtinā | mat-sthāni sarva-bhūtāni na chāhaṁ teṣhvavasthitaḥ || 9.4 ||

English:  By Me, in My unmanifested form, this entire universe is pervaded. All living beings dwell in Me, but I am not present in them.

Hindi:  मेरे द्वारा, मेरी अव्यक्त रूप में, यह सम्पूर्ण जगत व्याप्त है। सभी जीव मुझमें रहते हैं, परंतु मैं उनमें स्थित नहीं हूँ।

 

Shloka 9.5: na cha mat-sthāni bhūtāni paśhya me yogam aiśhvaram | bhūta-bhṛin na cha bhūta-stho mamātmā bhūta-bhāvanaḥ || 9.5 ||

English:  And yet, the beings do not dwell in Me. Behold My divine yoga! Though I am the sustainer of all living beings and although I am not situated in them, My Self is the cause of all beings.

Hindi:  फिर भी, ये जीव मुझमें स्थित नहीं हैं। देखो मेरे दैवी योग को! यद्यपि मैं सभी जीवों का धारक हूँ और मैं उनमें स्थित नहीं हूँ, मेरा स्वरूप सभी जीवों का कारण है।

 

Shloka 9.6: yathākāśha-sthito nityaṁ vāyuḥ sarvatrago mahān | tathā sarvāṇi bhūtāni mat-sthānītyupadhāraya || 9.6 ||

English:  As the mighty wind, moving everywhere, always rests in the sky, likewise know that all living beings rest in Me.

Hindi:  जिस प्रकार महान वायु, हर जगह घूमते हुए भी हमेशा आकाश में स्थित रहता है, उसी प्रकार जानो कि सभी जीव मुझमें स्थित हैं।

 

Shloka 9.7: sarva-bhūtāni kaunteya prakṛitiṁ yānti māmikām | kalpa-kṣhaye punas tāni kalpādau visṛijāmyaham || 9.7 ||

English:  At the end of a cycle of creation, all beings enter into My material nature; at the beginning of the next cycle, I create them again, O Kaunteya (Arjuna).

Hindi:  सृजन के एक कल्प के अंत में, सभी जीव मेरी प्रकृति में प्रवेश कर जाते हैं; और अगले कल्प के प्रारंभ में, मैं उन्हें फिर से उत्पन्न करता हूँ, हे कौन्तेय (अर्जुन)।

 

Shloka 9.8: prakṛitiṁ svām avaṣhṭabhya visṛijāmi punaḥ punaḥ | bhūta-grāmam imaṁ kṛitsnam avaśaṁ prakṛiter vaśhāt || 9.8 ||

English:  Taking hold of My material nature, I create all living entities again and again, according to their karma, and they are helplessly born under the control of nature.

Hindi:  अपनी प्रकृति को अधीन रखते हुए, मैं बार-बार सभी जीवों को उत्पन्न करता हूँ। वे सभी अपनी कर्म के अनुसार जन्म लेते हैं और प्रकृति के अधीन होते हैं।

 

Shloka 9.9: na cha māṁ tāni karmāṇi nibadhnanti dhanañjaya | udāsīna-vad āsīnam asaktaṁ teṣhu karmasu || 9.9 ||

English:  These actions do not bind Me, O Dhananjaya (Arjuna), because I remain indifferent and detached from these acts.

Hindi:  ये कर्म मुझे बाँधते नहीं हैं, हे धनंजय (अर्जुन), क्योंकि मैं इन कर्मों से अलग और निर्लिप्त रहता हूँ।

 

Shloka 9.10: mayādhyakṣeṇa prakṛitiḥ sūyate sa-charācharam | heto nānena kaunteya jagad viparivartate || 9.10 ||

English:  Under My supervision, nature brings forth all moving and non-moving beings; because of this, the world revolves, O Kaunteya (Arjuna).

Hindi:  मेरे अध्यक्षता में, प्रकृति सभी चर और अचर प्राणियों को उत्पन्न करती है; इसी कारण यह जगत संचालित होता है, हे कौन्तेय (अर्जुन)।

 

Shloka 9.11: avajānanti māṁ mūḍhā mānuṣhīṁ tanum āśhritam | paraṁ bhāvam ajānanto mama bhūta-maheśhvaram || 9.11 ||

English:  The foolish disregard Me when I descend in the human form. They do not know My supreme nature as the Lord of all beings.

Hindi:  मूढ़ लोग मुझे मानव रूप में अवतरित होने पर तिरस्कार करते हैं। वे मेरी सर्वोच्च प्रकृति और सभी जीवों के स्वामी को नहीं जानते।

 

Shloka 9.12: moghāśhā mogha-karmāṇo mogha-jñānā vichetasaḥ | rākṣhasīm āsurīṁ chaiva prakṛitiṁ mohinīṁ śhritāḥ || 9.12 ||

English:  Those with deluded hopes, fruitless actions, and meaningless knowledge, who lack discrimination, take refuge in the deluding nature of Rakshasas (demonic) and Asuras.

Hindi:  मूढ़ आशाओं, व्यर्थ कर्मों, और निरर्थक ज्ञान वाले लोग, जो विवेक रहित होते हैं, राक्षसी और असुरी प्रकृति की मोहिनी प्रकृति में शरण लेते हैं।

 

Shloka 9.13: mahātmānas tu māṁ pārtha daivīṁ prakṛitim āśhritāḥ | bhajantyananya-manaso jñātvā bhūtādim avyayam || 9.13 ||

English:  But the great souls, O Partha, who have taken refuge in the divine nature, know Me as the imperishable origin of all beings, and they worship Me with undivided devotion.

Hindi:  परंतु महात्मा, हे पार्थ, जो दैवी प्रकृति में शरण लेते हैं, मुझे अविनाशी और सभी प्राणियों का मूल जानकर, अनन्य भक्ति से मेरी भक्ति करते हैं।

 

Shloka 9.14: satataṁ kīrtayanto māṁ yatantaśh cha dṛiḍha-vratāḥ | namasyantaśh cha māṁ bhaktyā nitya-yuktā upāsate || 9.14 ||

English:  Always glorifying Me, striving with firm determination, and bowing down before Me, these great souls, constantly united with Me, worship Me with devotion.

Hindi:  सदैव मेरा गुणगान करते हुए, दृढ़ संकल्प के साथ प्रयासरत रहते हुए, और मेरे समक्ष नमन करते हुए, ये महात्मा सदा मुझसे संयुक्त रहते हैं और भक्ति से मेरी उपासना करते हैं।

 

Shloka 9.15: jñāna-yajñena chāpyanye yajanto mām upāsate | ekatvena pṛithaktvena bahudhā viśhvato-mukham || 9.15 ||

English:  Others, performing the sacrifice of knowledge, worship Me by seeing Me as One with themselves, or as separate, or worship Me in various forms, as the universal face of all.

Hindi:  अन्य लोग ज्ञान यज्ञ के द्वारा मेरी उपासना करते हैं। वे मुझे या तो अपने से अभिन्न देखते हैं, या विभिन्न मानते हैं, या फिर मुझे विविध रूपों में सर्वव्यापी मुख के रूप में पूजते हैं।

 

Shloka 9.16: ahaṁ kratur ahaṁ yajñaḥ svadhāham aham auṣhadham | mantro ’ham aham evājyam aham agnir ahaṁ hutam || 9.16 ||

English:  I am the Vedic ritual, I am the sacrifice, I am the offering to the ancestors, I am the medicinal herb, I am the mantra, I am the ghee, I am the fire, and I am the offering.

Hindi:  मैं वैदिक क्रतु हूँ, मैं यज्ञ हूँ, मैं स्वधा (पितरों को अर्पण) हूँ, मैं औषधि हूँ, मैं मंत्र हूँ, मैं घी हूँ, मैं अग्नि हूँ, और मैं ही हवन भी हूँ।

 

Shloka 9.17: pitāham asya jagato mātā dhātā pitāmahaḥ | vedyaṁ pavitram oṁkāra ṛik sāma yajur eva cha || 9.17 ||

English:  I am the father of this universe, the mother, the sustainer, and the grandsire. I am the object of knowledge, the purifier, the sacred syllable Om, and also the Rig, Sama, and Yajur Vedas.

Hindi:  मैं इस जगत का पिता हूँ, माता, धारक, और पितामह भी हूँ। मैं ज्ञेय हूँ, पवित्र करने वाला हूँ, हूँ, और ऋग, साम, और यजुर वेद भी हूँ।

 

Shloka 9.18: gatir bhartā prabhuḥ sākṣhī nivāsaḥ śharaṇaṁ suhṛit | prabhavaḥ pralayaḥ sthānaṁ nidhānaṁ bījam avyayam || 9.18 ||

English:  I am the goal, the sustainer, the Lord, the witness, the abode, the refuge, the friend, the origin, the dissolution, the foundation, the treasure-house, and the imperishable seed.

Hindi:  मैं गति हूँ, भर्ता हूँ, स्वामी हूँ, साक्षी हूँ, निवास हूँ, शरण हूँ, मित्र हूँ, उत्पत्ति हूँ, प्रलय हूँ, स्थान हूँ, भंडार हूँ, और अविनाशी बीज हूँ।

 

Shloka 9.19: tapāmyaham ahaṁ varṣhaṁ nigṛihṇāmyutsṛijāmi cha | amṛitaṁ chaiva mṛityuśh cha sad asach chāham arjuna || 9.19 ||

English:  I give heat, I withhold and send forth the rain. I am immortality as well as death, I am the manifest and the unmanifest, O Arjuna.

Hindi:  मैं उष्णता प्रदान करता हूँ, मैं वर्षा रोकता हूँ और उसे प्रवाहित भी करता हूँ। मैं अमृत भी हूँ और मृत्यु भी, मैं सत और असत भी हूँ, हे अर्जुन।

 

Shloka 9.20: traividyā māṁ soma-pāḥ pūta-pāpā yajñair iṣhṭvā svar-gatiṁ prārthayante | te puṇyam āsādya surendra-lokam aśhnanti divyān divi deva-bhogān || 9.20 ||

English:  The knowers of the three Vedas, the drinkers of soma, being purified of sin, worship Me through sacrifices and seek the heavenly planets. By virtue of their piety, they attain the realm of Indra, where they enjoy celestial pleasures.

Hindi:  तीनों वेदों के ज्ञानी, सोम रस पीने वाले, पापों से शुद्ध होकर, यज्ञों द्वारा मेरी पूजा करते हैं और स्वर्ग लोक की कामना करते हैं। अपने पुण्य के फलस्वरूप वे इन्द्र लोक को प्राप्त करते हैं और वहाँ दिव्य भोगों का आनंद लेते हैं।

 

Shloka 9.21: te taṁ bhuktvā svarga-lokaṁ viśhālaṁ kṣhīṇe puṇye martya-lokaṁ viśhanti | evaṁ trayī-dharmam anuprapannā gatāgataṁ kāma-kāmā labhante || 9.21 ||

English:  After enjoying the vast heavenly realms, when their merits are exhausted, they return to the mortal world. Thus, those who seek sense pleasures by adhering to the rituals prescribed in the three Vedas attain only repeated birth and death.

Hindi:  स्वर्ग लोक का विशाल भोग भोगने के बाद, जब उनके पुण्य समाप्त हो जाते हैं, तब वे मृत्युलोक में लौट आते हैं। इस प्रकार, जो लोग कामनाओं की पूर्ति के लिए तीनों वेदों के धर्म का पालन करते हैं, वे केवल जन्म और मृत्यु को ही प्राप्त करते हैं।

 

Shloka 9.22: ananyāśh chintayanto māṁ ye janāḥ paryupāsate | teṣhāṁ nityābhiyuktānāṁ yoga-kṣhemaṁ vahāmyaham || 9.22 ||

English:  To those who are constantly devoted to Me and who worship Me with love, I provide what they lack and preserve what they already have.

Hindi:  जो लोग अनन्य भक्ति से मेरा चिंतन करते हैं और मुझे उपासते हैं, उनके लिए मैं उनकी कमी को पूरा करता हूँ और जो उनके पास है, उसकी रक्षा करता हूँ।

 

Shloka 9.23: ye ’pyanya-devatā-bhaktā yajante śhraddhayānvitāḥ | te ’pi mām eva kaunteya yajantyavidhi-pūrvakam || 9.23 ||

English:  Even those who are devotees of other gods, worshiping them with faith, actually worship Me, O Kaunteya (Arjuna), but they do so in an improper way.

Hindi:  जो लोग अन्य देवताओं के भक्त हैं और श्रद्धा से उनकी पूजा करते हैं, वे वास्तव में मेरी ही पूजा करते हैं, हे कौन्तेय (अर्जुन), लेकिन वे इसे अविधि पूर्वक करते हैं।

 

Shloka 9.24: ahaṁ hi sarva-yajñānāṁ bhoktā cha prabhur eva cha | na tu mām abhijānanti tattvenātaśh chyavanti te || 9.24 ||

English:  For I alone am the enjoyer and Lord of all sacrifices. But those who do not recognize Me in truth fall away.

Hindi:  मैं ही सभी यज्ञों का भोक्ता और स्वामी हूँ। लेकिन जो लोग मुझे सत्य रूप में नहीं जानते, वे भटक जाते हैं।

 

Shloka 9.25: yānti deva-vratā devān pitṝīn yānti pitṛi-vratāḥ | bhūtāni yānti bhūtejyā yānti mad-yājino ’pi mām || 9.25 ||

English:  Those who worship the demigods go to the demigods; those who worship the ancestors go to the ancestors; those who worship ghosts and spirits go to such beings, and those who worship Me come to Me.

Hindi:  जो लोग देवताओं की पूजा करते हैं, वे देवताओं को प्राप्त होते हैं; जो पितरों की पूजा करते हैं, वे पितरों को प्राप्त होते हैं; जो भूत-प्रेत की पूजा करते हैं, वे उन्हीं को प्राप्त होते हैं, और जो मेरी भक्ति करते हैं, वे मुझे प्राप्त होते हैं।

 

Shloka 9.26: patraṁ puṣhpaṁ phalaṁ toyaṁ yo me bhaktyā prayachchhati | tad ahaṁ bhakty-upahṛitam aśhnāmi prayatātmanaḥ || 9.26 ||

English:  Whoever offers Me with devotion a leaf, a flower, fruit, or water, I accept that offering from the pure-hearted devotee.

Hindi:  जो कोई मुझे भक्ति से एक पत्ता, फूल, फल, या जल अर्पित करता है, मैं उसे शुद्ध हृदय वाले भक्त से स्वीकार करता हूँ।

 

Shloka 9.27: yat karoṣhi yad aśhnāsi yaj juhoṣhi dadāsi yat | yat tapasyasi kaunteya tat kuruṣhva mad-arpaṇam || 9.27 ||

English:  Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer in sacrifice, whatever you give in charity, and whatever austerities you perform, O Kaunteya, do it as an offering to Me.

Hindi:  जो कुछ भी तुम करते हो, जो कुछ भी तुम खाते हो, जो कुछ भी तुम यज्ञ में अर्पित करते हो, जो कुछ भी तुम दान देते हो, और जो कुछ भी तुम तपस्या करते हो, हे कौन्तेय, उसे मुझे अर्पित करो।

 

Shloka 9.28: śhubhāśhubha-phalair evaṁ mokṣhyase karma-bandhanaiḥ | saṅnyāsa-yoga-yuktātmā vimukto mām upaiṣhyasi || 9.28 ||

English:  In this way, you shall be freed from the bondage of actions, which bear good and evil results. With your mind firmly set in the yoga of renunciation, you shall be liberated and come to Me.

Hindi:  इस प्रकार, तुम कर्मों के बंधन से, जो अच्छे और बुरे फल देते हैं, मुक्त हो जाओगे। संन्यास योग में स्थित मन के साथ, तुम मुक्त हो जाओगे और मुझे प्राप्त करोगे।

 

Shloka 9.29: samo ’haṁ sarva-bhūteṣhu na me dveṣhyo ’sti na priyaḥ | ye bhajanti tu māṁ bhaktyā mayi te teṣhu chāpyaham || 9.29 ||

English:  I am impartial towards all living beings; I am equally disposed to all. However, those who worship Me with devotion are in Me, and I am also in them.

Hindi:  मैं सभी जीवों के प्रति समभाव रखता हूँ; मेरे लिए कोई प्रिय या अप्रिय नहीं है। फिर भी, जो लोग मुझे भक्ति से पूजते हैं, वे मुझमें हैं, और मैं भी उनमें हूँ।

 

Shloka 9.30: api chet su-durāchāro bhajate mām ananya-bhāk | sādhur eva sa mantavyaḥ samyag vyavasito hi saḥ || 9.30 ||

English:  Even if a person of very bad conduct worships Me with undivided devotion, he is to be considered righteous, for he has rightly resolved.

Hindi:  यदि कोई बहुत दुराचारी भी अनन्य भक्ति से मेरी पूजा करता है, तो उसे साधु समझना चाहिए, क्योंकि उसने सही संकल्प कर लिया है।

 

Shloka 9.31: kṣhipraṁ bhavati dharmātmā śhaśhvat śhāntiṁ nigachchhati | kaunteya pratijānīhi na me bhaktaḥ praṇaśhyati || 9.31 ||

English:  He quickly becomes righteous and attains lasting peace, O Kaunteya (Arjuna). Declare it boldly that My devotee never perishes.

Hindi:  वह शीघ्र ही धर्मात्मा बन जाता है और शाश्वत शांति को प्राप्त करता है, हे कौन्तेय (अर्जुन)। मेरा भक्त कभी नष्ट नहीं होता—इसकी घोषणा तुम निर्भय होकर करो।

 

Shloka 9.32: māṁ hi pārtha vyapāśhritya ye ’pi syuḥ pāpa-yonayaḥ | striyo vaiśhyās tathā śhūdrās te ’pi yānti parāṁ gatim || 9.32 ||

English:  O Partha, even those who are of sinful birthwomen, merchants, and laborers—if they take refuge in Me, they too attain the supreme destination.

Hindi:  हे पार्थ, जो पाप योनि से उत्पन्न हैं—स्त्रियाँ, वैश्य, और शूद्र—वे भी मेरी शरण में आने पर परम गति को प्राप्त होते हैं।

 

Shloka 9.33: kiṁ punar brāhmaṇāḥ puṇyā bhaktā rājarṣhayas tathā | anityam asukhaṁ lokam imaṁ prāpya bhajasva mām || 9.33 ||

English:  How much more then the holy Brahmins and devoted royal sages? Therefore, having come to this transient and joyless world, worship Me.

Hindi:  फिर पुण्यवान ब्राह्मणों और भक्त राजर्षियों की तो बात ही क्या है? इसलिए, इस अस्थिर और दुःखमय संसार को प्राप्त होकर, मेरी भक्ति करो।

 

Shloka 9.34: man-manā bhava mad-bhakto mad-yājī māṁ namaskuru | mām evaiṣhyasi yuktvaivam ātmānaṁ mat-parāyaṇaḥ || 9.34 ||

English:  Fix your mind on Me, be My devotee, worship Me, and offer your obeisance to Me. By being completely absorbed in Me, surely you will come to Me.

Hindi:  अपना मन मुझमें लगाओ, मेरे भक्त बनो, मुझे पूज्य मानो, और मुझे नमन करो। इस प्रकार मुझमें लीन होकर, तुम निश्चय ही मुझ तक पहुँचोगे।

Chapter 9 of the Bhagavad Gita is titled ‘Raja Vidya Raja Guhya Yoga’, meaning "The Yoga of Royal Knowledge and Royal Secret". In this chapter, Krishna reveals to Arjuna the most confidential and exalted knowledge, which can free one from all sins and lead to the supreme destination. The Supreme Knowledge and the Fate of the Faithless (Verses 1-3)

Krishna starts by revealing that the knowledge He is sharing is the most confidential and purest knowledge—both in terms of theory and realization. He calls it royal knowledge and royal secret because it leads to liberation. Krishna points out that those who do not have faith in this knowledge fall back into the cycle of birth and death.

Krishna’s Pervasive Nature (Verses 4-10)

Krishna explains that His unmanifest form pervades the entire universe, and everything rests in Him. Yet, He is detached from the creation. Using the analogy of the wind resting in the sky, Krishna describes how all beings rest in Him, and at the end of each cosmic cycle, they merge back into His material nature, only to be created again.

Despite being the source of all creation, Krishna remains unbound and indifferent to these actions. He explains that His divine maya (illusory energy) operates under His direction, sustaining the universe.

Foolish Disregard and the Nature of Great Souls (Verses 11-15)

Krishna highlights that foolish people fail to recognize His supreme nature when He descends in human form. They disregard Him, unaware that He is the Supreme Lord. On the other hand, great souls (mahatmas), who are established in the divine nature, recognize Krishna as the cause of all causes and worship Him with undivided devotion.

These great souls, with firm determination, glorify Krishna and worship Him in different forms—seeing Him as the One, as many, or as the universal presence.

Krishna as the Supreme Enjoyer (Verses 16-25)

Krishna reveals that He is the essence of all sacrifices, rituals, and offerings. He is the father, mother, and sustainer of the universe. He is the Vedas, the sacred syllable Om, and the goal of all. Krishna is the giver of heat, the controller of rain, immortality, and death.

Krishna states that those who worship other deities with faith are, in reality, worshipping Him, albeit improperly. He explains that those who worship demigods attain the demigods, those who worship ancestors attain the ancestors, while those who worship Krishna attain Him alone.

Path of Devotion and Krishna’s Assurance (Verses 26-34)

Krishna emphasizes the importance of devotion. He explains that He accepts even the simplest offerings—a leaf, a flower, fruit, or water—if they are offered with love and devotion. Krishna encourages Arjuna to offer everything—every action, sacrifice, and austerity—as an offering to Him. In this way, one can become free from the bondage of karma and attain Krishna.

Krishna declares that He is impartial towards all beings, yet those who worship Him with devotion are especially dear to Him. Even a person of bad conduct who turns to Krishna with sincere devotion is to be considered righteous, and they quickly become virtuous. Krishna assures Arjuna that His devotee never perishes.

Krishna encourages all to take refuge in Him, regardless of their background or circumstances, and states that they will attain the supreme destination. He concludes by urging Arjuna to fix his mind on Him, become His devotee, worship Him, and bow down before Him. By doing so, Arjuna will surely attain Krishna.

  2. Krishna’s Divine Nature: Krishna explains that He is the cause of all creation, sustenance, and dissolution, yet remains unattached to all these actions. He is the Supreme Controller, and His divine energy (maya) brings forth all creation under His supervision.
  3. Devotion: Krishna emphasizes devotion as the path to attaining Him. He accepts even the smallest offering if it is given with love. Krishna assures that those who surrender to Him are protected and provided for.
  4. All-Inclusiveness of Krishna: Krishna explains that He is present in all sacrifices, offerings, and rituals. He is the father, mother, and sustainer of all beings. Those who worship other deities unknowingly worship Him, but in an incomplete way.
  5. Impartiality and Assurance: Krishna declares that He is impartial and does not have favorites. However, those who worship Him are especially dear to Him. He assures that even those of sinful birth or bad conduct, if they sincerely turn to Him in devotion, will be accepted and attain Him.
  6. Worship and Liberation: Krishna encourages all to offer their actions and austerities to Him, thereby becoming free from the bondage of karma and attaining liberation. He urges Arjuna to fix his mind and devotion on Him, which guarantees the attainment of the supreme goal.

Chapter 9, titled ‘The Yoga of Royal Knowledge and Royal Secret’, provides a deep insight into Krishna’s divine nature and the path of devotion. Krishna reveals His omnipresence in all aspects of creation and emphasizes the importance of sincere devotion over mere ritualistic practices. He explains that He is impartial to all beings, yet those who take refuge in Him are dear to Him and quickly become righteous.

Krishna assures that He is the ultimate protector of those who are devoted to Him and that such devotees will never perish. By fixing the mind on Him, worshipping Him, and surrendering all actions to Him, one can attain liberation and lasting peace. This chapter inspires one to rise above material desires, focus on the Supreme, and lead a life of devotion and righteousness.
